BGMA reaction to the Government's transition plan after Brexit

Warwick Smith, Director General of the British Generic Manufacturers Association, said: "We are pleased that the Government has confirmed that it is looking for a period of transition when leaving the European Union. We continue to seek an outcome which creates cooperation and alignment between the UK and the EU27 in the interests of patients. We believe that a period of transition after leaving is vital to allow policy-makers, regulators, businesses and others to make the necessary preparations to ensure the continued supply of high quality medicines to patients. Additional time to adjust to the future arrangements will be welcomed by all connected to the delivery of medicines. Progress on those future arrangements is vital."
